FranklinWH aPower S
One of the biggest standouts was FranklinWH’s upcoming aPower S battery system. Unlike today’s aPower 2, which is “AC-coupled” and requires a separate inverter, the new model is DC-coupled. Translation: it can take the direct current (DC) power your solar panels produce and store it directly, without the extra conversion step. That means greater efficiency, fewer parts, and a simpler overall system design. Since TayCo already installs FranklinWH systems today, we’re excited to add this new solution to our lineup when it becomes available.
Pegasus Instaflash 2
Another highlight is the Pegasus Instaflash 2, a new solar attachment system that comes with a 10-year no-leak guarantee—the first of its kind. Solar attachments are what connect panels securely to your roof. Historically, homeowners have worried that adding solar might increase the risk of leaks. This guarantee provides unprecedented peace of mind that your home will stay protected, while still benefiting from clean energy.
Tesla Updates
Tesla made waves with two announcements:
- The company is now manufacturing its own solar panels, which will begin rolling out in select test markets next year. This marks Tesla’s growing move toward producing complete, integrated solar solutions.
- Tesla also celebrated crossing the milestone of 1 million Powerwalls installed worldwide. While this isn’t a new product launch, it’s a reminder of the scale of adoption—and TayCo is proud to have helped contribute to that number through our installations.
