Built for Today. Ready for What’s Next.
The 2026 Charlotte St. Jude Dream Home is coming to life in Charlotte, built by Four Oaks Builders. Even with a short weather slowdown in January, construction is moving fast. Brickwork is complete, tile is installed, and windows and doors are in, giving the home its shape and character. The project also includes standout features like custom cabinetry from Eudy’s Cabinets, a second-floor laundry chute, and a covered back porch designed for outdoor living.
But the most meaningful part of this home isn’t what you see in the photos.
It’s what’s built into the infrastructure.
Behind the walls is where TayCo Electric did what we do best: It’s wired to be resilient, upgrade-ready, and future-proof.
Full Residential Electrical Installation for the 2026 Charlotte Dream Home
TayCo Electric is completing the electrical installation for the home, not as a partial scope, but as a full system designed to perform reliably for years. The team completed a major portion of the work in a focused two-day effort and will return near the end of the build to install light fixtures, appliances, and the final electrical components that bring the home fully online.
When the electrical system is done right, it disappears into the background. That’s the point. You shouldn’t have to think about it.
What you should be able to do is expand it when the time is right.
Tesla Powerwall Ready: Garage Battery Backup Connection and Transfer Switch Setup
This Dream Home was wired with battery backup in mind, including a garage battery backup connection and a Tesla-ready transfer switch configuration.
In plain English: the home is prepared for a homeowner who wants to add a battery system like a Tesla Powerwall later, without tearing into walls or rebuilding electrical infrastructure after the fact.
Battery backup systems are increasingly popular because they do something homeowners actually care about: they keep critical circuits running during outages and reduce dependency on the grid. Pre-wiring that capability during construction is the smart move, because it keeps options open and avoids expensive retrofit work later.
Generac Generator Ready: Whole-Home Generator Pre-Wire and Transfer Switch Integration
TayCo also donated a full pre-wire for a whole-home generator, along with a Generac-ready transfer switch setup.
That means if the homeowner chooses to install a Generac standby generator in the future, the electrical foundation is already built to support it. The heavy planning work, routing, and integration approach is already accounted for during construction, when it’s easiest and cleanest to do it correctly.
In the Carolinas, standby power isn’t a “nice-to-have.” Storms, ice, and long outage events make generator readiness a practical decision, especially for homeowners who work from home, have medical equipment needs, or simply don’t want to lose refrigeration, HVAC stability, security systems, and basic livability during grid disruptions.
Solar Ready Wiring: Future Solar Panel Installation Made Easier
This year’s Dream Home also includes future-ready solar wiring, allowing solar panels to be added later without starting from scratch.
Solar is one of those upgrades homeowners often want, but they delay it. Wiring for it during construction removes friction later. It makes future installation cleaner and helps the home stay current with where residential energy is headed.
Why Tesla + Generac Readiness Matters in a New Home in Charlotte
Most homes are built for the moment they’re sold.
This one was wired for the next decade.
Tesla battery systems and Generac generators solve different problems. A battery backup system can handle critical loads silently and seamlessly. A standby generator can run longer and support larger loads during extended outages. Some homeowners choose one. Others choose both.
The point is: this home doesn’t force a decision today.
It’s ready for whichever direction the future homeowner chooses.
That’s what “future-proof electrical” actually means.
TayCo Electric & Solar’s Role in Supporting St. Jude’s Mission
The St. Jude Dream Home isn’t just a house. It supports the lifesaving mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, helping fund care for families who should never have to choose between a child’s treatment and financial survival.
TayCo Electric & Solar brought both expertise and heart to the build, donating generator pre-wire, solar-ready wiring, and battery backup infrastructure as part of the project.
When the project carries the St. Jude name, you don’t show up halfway.
You show up all the way.
